I'm Julia

Your Widow's Fire Host

Widow's Fire surprised me.  I was relieved when I found out there was a name for what I was feeling.

Dear Wids

In 2018, I was 31 when my husband died of cancer.  I had a 3 week old baby.

The realization that I would never be intimate with my husband again hit me the hardest.  My world had completely crumbled, so why was I thinking so much about touch and intimacy?

I want widows and widowers everywhere to feel completely comfortable and unashamed to admit and explore all aspects of cravings, fantasies, intimacy, dating, and new relationship highs and lows.  We are navigating the craziness of grief while also putting ourselves back out into the world and making attempts at new connections, opening ourselves up to hope and love after loss.  I don't want you to be alone in this.

There is often a mix of fear, guilt, vulnerability, excitement and disappointment along the way, at any stage of grief, no matter how long it's been.  We can’t replicate what we had with the one we lost but we can reminisce about it alongside hopes and dreams for the future.  We can support each other, share thoughts and feelings and build a community of sexy widows and widowers, empowered to live life to the fullest.

With burning love,

Julia
